Prime Minister Ehud Olmert today visited the new National Security Council offices, and met with NSC Chairman Ilan Mizrahi and NSC employees.
Approximately two months ago, the NSC moved to the Prime Minister's office in Jerusalem. In his talks with the NSC employees, Prime Minister Olmert noted the importance of proximity between them and the Prime Minister's Bureau. He spoke about the importance of the NSC, the need to move it forward and its long-term vision. The Prime Minister told the NSC staff that he appreciates their highly important staff work and added that he always reads the papers brought to him even if he does not always fully accept their positions.
A recent NSC project dealt with overall responsibility for the home front in time of emergency.
