Prime Minister Ehud Olmert today, 19.4.07, met with members of the ELEM non-profit association for youth in distress (http://www.elem.org/index.php) and with ELEM President Nava Barak. The Prime Minister noted that he had been active in ELEM 20 years ago.
Prime Minister Olmert commended Ms. Barak and ELEM for its important work among youth in distress: “You are doing something very important. I am pleased to welcome you here and am proud to tell you that the socio-economic plan (http://tinyurl.com/34tqvf) that was presented this morning will reduce the number of poor in the country and will remove 115,000 children from the cycle of poverty.”
Prime Minister Olmert sent an SMS to light the ELEM flag on the Azrieli Towers in Tel Aviv. Ms. Barak told him that most citizens donate NIS 10. The Prime Minister donated NIS 100 for lighting the flag.
