Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, today, at his Jerusalem office, met with volunteers and directors of the ZAKA organization (http://www.zaka.org.il/index_e.php), which identifies victims of disasters.
Prime Minister Olmert was being briefed on ZAKA’s activities in Israel and around the world. He praised the organization, which is marking its 18th anniversary. The Prime Minister said: “ZAKA’s unique contributions and importance is etched in the collective consciousness of the Israeli public. On behalf of the State of Israel and the Government, I thank you. Let us hope that we will not need to test your organization in an emergency.”
