Dov Weisglass and senior officials meet with Condoleezza Rice

Head of the Prime Minister's Bureau, Dov Weissglas, met today with National Security Adviser, Dr. Condoleezza Rice. Also present at the meeting were Israeli Ambassador to the United States, Danny Ayalon, Foreign Policy Adviser to the Prime Minister, Shalom Tourgeman and officials from the National Security Council, the Vice President's Office and the American State Department.
The meeting was held in the framework of the joint dialogue taking place between the Israeli and American governments.

At the meeting, various topics were discussed, including: an overview of the relations between Israel and the Palestinian Authority, the security situation in the region and the continuation of progress in implementing the Roadmap.

During the meeting, opinions were shared regarding Israel's plan to take steps in order to strengthen implementation of President Bush's vision, as stated in his June 24, 2003 speech.

Next week, Special Envoy John Wolf will arrive in Israel for a series of meetings with Israeli political and security officials.

During his stay in the United States, the Head of the Prime Minister's Bureau will meet with Congressman Tom Lantos and the Chairman of the Senate Foreign Policy Committee, Sen. Richard Lugar.
The Head of the Prime Minister's Bureau and the Foreign Policy Adviser to the Prime Minister will return to Israel tomorrow, before the Sabbath begins.
