One year after the special rabbinical conversion courts were transferred to the Prime Minister’s Office, a large number of converts (to Judaism) has been reported.  Rabbi Druckman, the director of conversion affairs in the Prime Minister’s Office, reports that one year after Prime Minister Ariel Sharon authorized him to sign conversion certificates, he has overseen the issuance of approximately 5,800 certificates, of which approximately 5,360 were in the first nine months of 2005 (as opposed to 3,599 certificates which were issued in all of 2004).
