Prime Minister Ariel Sharon today telephoned Jordanian King Abdullah II and expressed his condolences over the terrorist attacks that struck Amman yesterday. The Prime Minister said that he was greatly saddened to hear about the attacks and added that Israel was prepared to immediately render such assistance as may be requested. The Prime Minister told King Abdullah that it was forbidden to compromise with extremist terrorism and that it had to be fought with determination. King Abdullah thanked Prime Minister Sharon for his remarks and said that the hearts of Jordanians were warmed by the fact that Jordan had friends who stood by it at very difficult hours such as these. Prime Minister Sharon asked King Abdullah to convey his condolences to the families of those who were killed and his best wishes for a quick recovery to the wounded; King Abdullah asked to convey his gratitude to the Israeli people.
