Prime Minister Ehud Olmert will, in the coming weeks, submit for Cabinet approval the appointment of Tel Aviv University Eitan Berglas School of Economics Professor Zvi Eckstein as Deputy Governor of the Bank of Israel.
Prof. Eckstein's experience will greatly contribute towards advancing substantive issues for the Bank of Israel and the Israeli economy. Prof. Eckstein will contribute to the formulation of the Bank's monetary policy, out of a deep understanding of the Israeli economy and employment market and by showing sensitivity on various concomitant social issues.
