Prime Minister Ehud Olmert decided to appoint attorney Yaakov Galanti to succeed Asaf Shariv as his Media Adviser and Director of the Prime Minister’s Office Information Branch.  Galanti, who currently serves as Knesset Speaker Dalia Itzik’s Chief-of-Staff, has previously served as Justice Ministry Spokesman and a political correspondent for Ma’ariv.  He will take up his new post in January 2007.  The Prime Minister thanked Knesset Speaker Itzik for agreeing to release Galanti from his current position.
 
Prime Minister Olmert expressed his appreciation for attorney Asaf Shariv’s outstanding work over the past five years as Media Adviser to both himself and Prime Minister Ariel Sharon.
