Prime Minister Ehud Olmert will today visit Eilat (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eilat & http://www.jewishvirtuallibrary.org/jsource/vie/Eilat.html).  He will participate in events marking the 58th anniversary of the liberation of the area by the IDF during the War of Independence's Operation Uvda (http://tinyurl.com/3cco8d).  The Prime Minister views the strengthening of Eilat as a national mission of the highest order and has directed his office to advance various projects in the city.
